Crazy London Day!

23th of November 2016 at West Central café

Last Sunday I went to London and a lot of crazy things happened there. Let’s start at the beginning. In the morning we didn’t leave the house that early, because the day before we went out. (:

At a quarter before ten o’clock Annika was at my house and we walked (of course) to West Central to grab a cup of coffee to go. When we got our coffee we went to the station to buy a London day card. Because I have got a railcard I get a discount of 30% on all the train tickets I buy. So for £10,55 I had my ticket to London not only for the train but also for the bus and the underground.

Because of all the train strikes we had to go to London Bridge station instead of London Victoria. When we arrived there we took an underground to London Victoria.

Afterwards we went to see the Harry Potter station. Over there we found the new one:

We looked around in the Harry Potter shop, it was crazy you could buy literally everything with a Harry Potter sign on it. The shop was super crowded so after a quick round in the shop we left.

When we walked out of the station we were trying to find the right bus. But then we saw a man fighting with a security guard. Another man who walked in front of us jumped into the fight and tried to get him on the ground and keep him calm.

Annika and I walked quickly further but then we had to wait for a traffic light. We heard the man screaming and saw him putting his bags away. But as soon as a police car arrived he ran away.

Good start of our day in London!

We went on our bus to the centre, when we saw a sign of The Lion King musical we went out the bus and walked to the building. We asked how much a ticket would be for a show today, but it was way too expensive for us…

We walked further and we passed the James Bond museum. There was a big statue of him, it looked so real :o

We decided to go to Covent Garden, a little bit like a market / shopping centre. The Christmas decorations looked so beautiful!

There was a street artist who gave us a great show (:

After the show we walked up to the more expensive part of London, all the big brands are there. Annika wanted to see how a Mac lipstick would look on her.

After a while we came by the big M&M shop.

It was super crazy in there. It has 4 floors full of M&M stuff. You can get everything, shirts, cups, pyjamas and all kinds of flavours M&M’s in different packages. Even with your own text on it. Or what do you think of a jacket:

After a while we found Piccadilly circus, it is actually a bit weird, it is like a big crossing with TV’s. It is super famous, so we needed to take a picture here.

We went to the right into the big famous high street. Suddenly we came into a big event, everywhere where characters from famous children television programmes. The most famous English television channel had overtaken the street.

We walked on and we came by the biggest toyshop I had ever seen. We needed to take a look there! The shop was super, super crowded. It had five floors and toys everywhere. First we went to the Disney princes. One of my friends’ sister had asked me to look for a special doll. You won’t believe it but they didn’t have it…

So we went downstairs to the Star Wars part, it was super awesome. They made Star Wars figures of Lego. Everywhere in the shop there were employers who promoted new toys. For example the newest Barbie. Who is not thin but “fat” or as I would see, normal.

When we got out of the shop, we were a bit lost. So we went looking for a bus who would be able to bring us to the Big Ben. When we got by a bus stop, there was a bus who was standing still.

Everyone was getting out the bus but no one was getting in. We walked further because the bus we needed was not stopping there. But suddenly there came nurses by bike and two police cars who were stopping near the bus.

Annika and I didn’t like it so we walked quickly to the next bus stop.

We couldn’t found the right one so we jumped into an underground. We took the underground to Westminster. As soon as we came out the station we were in front of the Big Ben. For the people who don’t know, I really love the Big Ben. So I went crazy.

After I took the pictures we walked over the bridge to the London Eye. We came by the South Bank. Annika said that she needed to show me something so we went inside. We took the lift and I had to laugh. When the lift goes up there are people singing high and when the lift goes down the singing is going down. Hilarious!

We walked across the Thames and we saw a nice Mexican restaurant, Wahaca. We had dinner and I had the best ice cream ever, caramel sea salt. Dreams come true.

Victoria station was still in a strike so we needed to go to London Bridge. One positive thing, I saw The Tower Bridge by night.

When we came at the railway station we saw that the trains from there to Redhill were also not working. After waiting for 30 minutes we decided to take a train to Gatwick and from there we hoped that there would be a train to Redhill.

But in the train I had the most stupid idea ever. I thought that if we get of the train just before Gatwick we could get another train to Redhill. But no, on that station were no departure times by the trains and all the trains were delayed as well.

After waiting a super long time, we heard that they were calling for a doctor on platform 4. I looked next to me and I saw a man on his chair laying with his head to the right. He looked more dead then alive….

Finally our train arrived and by the time we came into Redhill it was raining like crazy or like cats and dogs....

I always thought the trains in the Netherlands are bad but now the trains in England are even worse.

So an interesting day…

This was my detailed blog about a crazy day in London. Hope you liked it (:

Lots of love,

Evelien
